A website to browse Medicaid & CHIP payments to healthcare providers in West Virginia
Overview
In February 2026, the US Department of Government Efficiency and the US Department of Health & Human Services released a dataset containing provider-level Medicaid spending data from January 2018 to December 2024.
I knew that West Virginia had one of the highest percentages of its population who were reliant on Medicaid & CHIP to pay for medical care, so I wanted to browse this new dataset and quickly visualize certain trends across the state.
This project provides a web interface to browse this large dataset limited down to just activity in West Virginia.
